Written on original paper envelope: 'No. 422, received Jan 6th, to be completed Jan 10th, name J.J. McCarley, order 1 doz Cabs, 2 Bro.' Possibly Joseph John McCarley, from Geralton, Western Australia, who enlisted with the AIF in November 1918, and was discharged soon after as he was not called up for duty.
