The iron ship 'Lammermuir', 1054 tons, moored in an unidentified port [iron ship, 1054 gross tons. ON50192, 200.4 x 35.5 x 20.9. Built 1864 (11) West Hartlepool. Owners: J Willis and Son, registered London. Posted missing on a voyage from Port Adelaide to London in 1876. (NB - there were two vessels of this name owned by Willis - Lubbock confuses them and apparently only believed there was one - note by Ron Parsons) In connection with this ship there is the oft told tale about the carpenter's box and 'Lammermuir' being overtaken by 'Orient' to deliver it - see Lubbock's 'Colonial Clippers'. An account of part of her maiden voyage in 'Sea Breezes' Vol. XVII (new series) pg. 408. (Jan. Jun. 1954) 'Colonial Clippers', 'China Clippers' and 'Log of the Cutty Sark'].

A MTT Adelaide horse tram on the isolated Port Adelaide system, running down the west side of the central reservation of Port Road on the Albert Park route. The line has been electrified, so the date would be shortly before 3rd April 1917, when the electric tram service commenced.

Photograph of a demonstration of glass blowing in the North West Annexe, at the old Exhibition grounds at the 4th South Australian Chamber of Manufacturers Exhibition, March-April 1910, with visitors crowded around the barriers watching. An article in the Daily Herald, Adelaide, reported that the plant was installed by the Adelaide Glass Bottle Works of Kilkenny, and there were two blowers employed together with the juniors to manipulate the mould, clean the bottles, and pass them into the furnace to be gradually cooled down. Demonstrations of glass blowing had previously been given at the Exhibition, but this was the first occasion upon which a complete plant had been on view.

Reverend Arthur M. Trengove : SUMMARY RECORD

Records of the Reverend Arthur M. Trengove comprising approximately 1300 lantern slides and glass plate negatives. To a lesser extent there are nitrate negatives and prints. The majority were created in South Australia and document the landscape and his activities as Reverend. Items include images of the following areas; Mid North and Flinders Ranges, Eyre Peninsula (including Cowell, Franklin Harbour, Hissey's Creek, Coonarie Falls, Winnowing, Arno Bay, Port Lincoln), Adelaide Botanic and Zoological Gardens, Port Elliot and Hindmarsh River, Beetaloo Reservoir, Bundaleer, Prince Alfred College, Mount Gambier, River Murray, Mannum and Renmark. Trengove spent time abroad in both New Zealand and during World War 1 in Egypt. Both trips are documented. There are also many family portraits, mainly taken during the mission years in northern South Australia. There are items of interest including a wooden and metal gas lantern slide projector and wooden frames for the slides, used in projection. There is a decorative light projection device with a prism-like light refractor which would have been used for creating patterned and coloured light presentations.

The soldier pictured may be Frank Turner Sellick who played for Sturt Football Club from 1914, number 178.
