The 'Newfield' after being stranded

The steel barque 'Newfield', 1512 tons, after being stranded [possibly also known as the 'Gwydyr Castle']. According to a researcher, the 'Newfield' was built by Alexander Stephen in Dundee & built for Brownells & Co. of Liverpool. 29 Aug 1892 - stranded when Cape Otway light was mistaken for King Island on passage Sharpness - Brisbane with 1850Te salt. 9 crew were lost. The next Newfield ON 102113 was built at the same yard in 1893, presumably as a replacement for the same owner. She was later called Gwydyr Castle and was scrapped in 1932.

The iron ship 'Sutlej', 1742 tons, in an unidentified port [iron ship, 1742 tons, ON94365, 260.3 x 38.2 x 23.1. Built 1888 (2) Russell and Co., Port Glasgow. Owners: Foley and Co., registered London. Sold c.1907 and renamed 'Antares' by Italian owners. Wrecked off the Victorian coast, west of Peterborough late in 1914, with the loss of her entire crew when on a voyage from Marseilles to Melbourne. Apparently struck the base of a high cliff and foundered].

A collection of photographs documenting some of the activities of the Australian National Institute Brass Band, and its alter ego, 'Die Eisenbahn Spieler Oompah Band', and the Youth Band, at band competitions, street parades, festivals, including Schutzenfest (1991 and 1997); together with group portrait photographs of the Australian National Brass Band at the Australian Band Championships in Adelaide 1991, the Adelaide Band Festival 1994 and TransAdelaide Brass Band taken at the National Championships in Adelaide in April 1999. Colour negatives held of SRG 841/13/130-147 and near duplicates, plus black and white negatives SRG 841/13/185-192 are withdrawn from use.

Collection of photographs showing the life and conditions of sheep stations that Clement Penfold Smith worked on including Outalpa and Weekeroo near Mannahill, northeast of Peterborough, and Coola, near Mount Gambier. They show the homesteads, gardens, livestock, tanks, and land. Coola Station was 20 miles from Mount Gambier, comprising 13000 acres, and carried 6000 sheep and 1000 Hereford cattle.
