13 graves at the Springs. Mill and tank are behind. The natural spring was poisoned causing these deaths.The springs were situated near a saddle on the ridge of the hill. On the hill stood a large pile of stones placed there by local Aboriginals to mark the site of the Springs.The rock formation in this area was of particular interest to Sir Douglas Mawson and his geology students who made twice yearly expeditions to the site. Outalpa had a rich variety of minerals including the first uranium discovery in South Australia.

Men standing by the back door at Outalpa Station, near Mannahill.The rear of the homestead consisted of a large rainwater tank with a smaller metal tank at the side. The tank held four hundred gallons of rainwater which had to be pumped twelve feet into the homestead.
