Photographs of 1927 tour by three cars from Wilpena in the Flinders Ranges (12 May) to Yadlamalka, some 60 kilometres north of Port Augusta (2 June), via Innamincka There are detailed captions typed on the verso of each photograph, with the only clue to the identity of the party coming from one of them (17 May): 'Members of the Commission with Doctor in Charge ... of Paralana Hot Springs Sanatorium'.

Album containing portraits of Meyer and Lovelock family members. Kelly, Genery, Herbert, Polhill, Sanders, Clayton, Ramsay, Gerrard and other families are included. Some families appear to be from the Yankalilla area. It is not known who compiled the album. To view images, take the Browse Album link. The album provides examples of carte-de visite and cabinet portraiture of many Adelaide photographers of the 1870s to 1890s, as well as good examples of the clothing and dress fashion of the day. The photographers are noted in brackets after the caption, where they are known. Photograph 26 shows a person in military uniform with a distinctive pill box cap, possibly the uniform of the Mounted Volunteer Corps of the Volunteer Militia. The album has a hand sewn cream suede cover, with rudimentary embroidery done in an acorn and leaf pattern. Additional research was carried out by Anthony Laube, who believes the album probably belonged to Mrs Lovelock. His additional information is shown in square brackets.

Composite photograph made from five original photographs of the horse 'Nevamaid' and its jockey, and the horse 'Marie Limond', 1950. 'Nevamaid' won the harness racing event 'A.N.A. Free-For-All' at Wayville. The reinsman was T. Butterworth. 'Marie Limond' ridden by D. Coleman won the Glenunga Handicap at Victoria Park. E.H. Murdoch was the breeder of both horses. The silks of the jockeys have been colour tinted.

World War 1 era fundraising button badges

22 World War 1 era badges, and two World War 2 era badges, (also known as campaign buttons or 'tinnies') donated by a member to the South Australian branch of the RSL. Most badges were designed and created to be purchased as a fundraising interest, in order to raise money for various factions of the Red Cross. Included are badges created for occasions such as Australia Day, Wattle Day and Violet Day, as well as badges designed for charity groups including the Red Cross, the Cheer-Up Society and the R.S.A. (Returned Soldiers' Association, which later became the R.S.L.). See below for details.

Postcard collection of Emily Sophia Groom

A collection of postcards and greeting cards collected by Emily Sophia Groom (nee Grovermann) during the early 1900s, with many cards depicting early SA. The inscription inside the album states "E S Grovermann, Blyth, 29-5-1906". Emily Groom was born in 1877 at Clare and married Harry Rowe (his mother's surname) Groom in 1931. Emily was aged 45 when she married and did not have children of her own. Locations in the postcards include Blyth and Clare, Tanunda, Gumeracha, Victor Harbor and Port Elliot, Adelaide, North Adelaide, and assorted interstate and international locations [See individual records for selected digitised postcards, which may be viewed online].

Group of Army Officers at a Happy Valley Camp, Easter, 1911, 10th Australian Infantry Regiment Militia, Adelaide Rifles. The Commanding Officer was Lt. Col. Le Mesurier. The man 6th from left in the back row is Hillary William Neale; third from the left in the middle row is Lieutenant Ernest Albert Warren. In the front row is W. R. McKeevor (on left), Francis Malcolm Blair, [a researcher suggests that this is actually Miles Fitzroy Beevor], Murray Robertson Coghill, Stanley Price Weir (later 10th Battalion AIF), John James Hughes (later 32nd Battalion, AIF), Leonard Watkins Bickle and Oldham. Major Edward Castle Oldham (who died at Lone Pine on 25 April 1915) is third from the right in the front row. Believed to' 'represent the 2 SA infantry milita battalions of the period 1902-1912 ie the 10th Australin Infantry Regiment (10th AIR) and the South Australian Infantry Regiment (SAIR)'.

John Murray, junior

John Murray, junior, son of John Murray (1814-1886). His father John Murray senior of Murray Vale, Mount Crawford was famous as a breeder of pedigree sheep after his arrival in the colony and won many prizes at Agricultural Shows. John Murray junior was born on board the ship "City of Adelaide" when his parents were emigrating from Scotland to South Australia. He was also a very successful breeder of merino sheep. He was a judge of sheep and President of the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia, an elder of the Presbyterian Church at Mount Pleasant and a Justice of the Peace. He married Mary Scott and they had seven children.
