Photographs of 1927 tour by three cars from Wilpena in the Flinders Ranges (12 May) to Yadlamalka, some 60 kilometres north of Port Augusta (2 June), via Innamincka There are detailed captions typed on the verso of each photograph, with the only clue to the identity of the party coming from one of them (17 May): 'Members of the Commission with Doctor in Charge ... of Paralana Hot Springs Sanatorium'.

Historical information

A researcher has advised that these photos are 'a set of photos of the Royal Commission into the Pastoral Industry established in South Australia in 1926, which reported to parliament in 1928 and caused subsequent legislative changes. The Commission consisted of: Chairman T.E. Day (Surveyor General of SA) ..., C.F. Pavy (Secretary), F.W. Lundie (... trade unionist, Port Adelaide and Adelaide city councillor, Board member of the Royal Adelaide Hospital amongst other things), John Edward Pick (pastoralist), and J. O'Connor'.
