Pencil on paper sketch of the wreck of the 'Gothenburg', comprising 9 portraits, probably copied from photographs, superimposed onto a background illustration of the sinking ship. The portraits represent 9 survivors including (numbered 1-9) Harris, Fitzgerald, Cleland, Thomas, Cockram, Kruger, Campbell, Hogan and Brazil. The portrait of Campbell is central to the work and considerably larger than the other portraits. It is assumed the work was commissioned by the Campbell family. The deck of a tug which had been sent to rescue and salvage the tug "Nyora" lost at sea off Cape Jaffa

The deck of a tug which had been sent to rescue and salvage the tug 'Nyora' lost at sea off Cape Jaffa; the only relic is a large bucket. The schooner 'Aurora' follows as the vessels return to Port Adelaide. A researcher has suggested that the ship in the foreground is the SS 'Yarra', an 89 metre long cargo steamship which had been sent from Port Adelaide to find the Auxiliary Schooner 'Astoria', which is seen in tow. The 'Astoria' was being towed from Port Pirie to Sydney by the Steam Tug 'Nyora', when the Nyora foundered in heavy seas near Cape Jaffa on Monday 9 July 1917. The 'Astoria' was unable to render aid, but arrived safely in Guichien Bay, near Robe, where it was found by the SS 'Yarra'. The 'Yarra' picked up wreckage of the lost 'Nyora' but found no survivors.
