Large family group outside Thebarton Cottage, Winwood Street, Thebarton, taken on the wedding day of Fanny (Frances Helen) Hone and Hugh Dugald McCallum, 19 February 1900. The house features a corrugated iron roof, with an interesting structure on the ridge (it appears to be designed to catch the wind). Apart from the bridal couple in the centre of the path, it is believed that the man immediately left of the central verandah post is one of the bride's brothers, Dr Frank Sandland Hone, holding his son Frank Raymond Hone (born 24 January 1897), with his wife, Lucy (nee Henderson) to his left wearing a large hat; the man with the beard behind the groom's right shoulder is father of the bride, Nathaniel Johnson Hone, with his wife Emily (nee Sandland) wearing a striped dress seated to his right; the three bridesmaids are to the left of the bride and one is assumed to be her sister Alice.

A large-format nineteenth-century gelatin silver studio portrait photograph of a Chinese man standing next to a bicycle, with both hands on the handlebar. He is smartly attired in a three-piece suit, hat, and cycling gaiters. The photograph is on its original mount, blindstamped 'Bond & Co., Adelaide'; they were active in Rundle Street from 1890 (Davis and Stanbury). Written in pencil on the verso is 'Fong 91', suggesting both the name of the subject and the year the photograph was taken - all of a piece of the image itself. [Possibly L.C. Fong of the Chinese Empire Reform Association.]

View of an exhibition in John Martin's displaying ordnance and military equipment made using various waste materials such as scrap rubber and scrap metal. The large tyre was produced by Thyer Rubber Co. Ltd. Photographs are also on display. A sign to the right reads "Waste goes to War Exhibition". There is also a large sign for the S.P.F. [Servicemen's Patriotic Fund.] Exhibition held from March 21 to April 20.
