Private Edmund George Oswald in miltiary uniform with his wife Florence (Flo) Emma Oswald (nee Green). They were married in London at St Matthias Church on 23 January 1919. Florence is seated and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, fur scarf, a long double-breasted coat and holding a pair of gloves in her left hand. Underneath the photo is inscribed: 'Love from Flossie and George. 4/5/19. (1919)'. On the back of the photo is inscribed: 'Soon be home Mum, old dear. xxxxxx' in pencil. A newspaper obituary notice for George Oswald, 6 November 1938, is stuck on the back of the photograph.

Tents, wagons and supplies can be seen in the background. The back of the photograph is inscribed with '3rd LH Pulchen'. The photograph may have been taken by Major Lance (Lancelot Ashley) Lewis.

October reinforcements for the Field Artillery. The men embarked on the S.S. 'Orontes' on 24 December 1916. Driver Geoffrey Howard Bishop is top row, fourth from the right. Driver Geoffrey Howard Bishop, no. 31521, enlisted on 18 September 1916, aged 28, and was assigned to the 7th Australian Field Artillery Brigade, 107th Howitzer Battery. He saw active service in Frace, and died of pneumonia on 21 November 1917.

A researcher has suggested that the officer on the far left is Lieutenant Arthur Francis Lindsary Harper, Adjutant of Mitcham Camp, standing next to Major Walter Leslie Stuart, the second Commandant of Mitcham Camp, and in the centre, South Australian Governor Sir Henry Galway in civilian clothing and holding a cane, rather than wearing his usual British military uniform.
