Historical information

William Herbert (Bert) Penna, a 19 year old farmer from Seven Hills. South Australia, enlisted on 10 June 1915, arriving back in Australia aboard the 'Morvada' on 23 August 1919. There is a newspaper report of the arrival of the 'Morvada' at Outer Harbor published in 'The Register', 23 August 1919 page 6. [There were a large number of ships returning soldiers to Australia and New Zealand in 1919; the newspaper reported that three arrived in Adelaide on the one day].
