The 'Pepys Show Project' is a series of casual shots taken by John Hinds to record the happenings at 1986 Festival Events. Names, dates and places are recorded on printed cards for posterity. Photographs containing John Hinds were taken by David Morgan. Hinds describes the shots, "overall it is a joyous and nostalgic time capsule of people and dress".

World War 1 and 2 era fundraising button badges

World War One era badges (also known as buttons or 'tinnies') collected by the R.S.L. Most badges were designed and created to be puchased as a fundraising interest, in order to raise money for various factions of the Red Cross. Included are badges created for occasions such as Australia Day, Violet Day, Army Nurses Day, and French Day, and for charity groups including the Red Cross, the Cheer-Up Society, the R.S.A. Building Fund (Returned Soldiers' Association, which later became the R.S.L.), the Wattle Day League, Soldiers' Home, Children's Patriotic League, Nursing Society, and the Y.M.C.A., as well as official peace badges marking the end of the war and various miscellaneous badges including a Christian Endeavour convention, fundraising carnivals and memorial gardens. Also includes some button badges from the inter-war years, 1919-1938, and from the Second World War, and other metal badges from WW1 and WW2. See below for details.

A group from the congregation of the Union Church in Tarcoola Street at Renmark West, built 1919-1920 on donated land on the south side of the Renmark West [primary] School. It is believed that it was taken in rlation to the laying of the foundation stones (see reports in the 'Murray River and Australian River Record', 14 November 1919, page 6 and 5 November 1920, page 5).

'Ilma' steel barquentine 318 tons [steel 3 mast brigantine, 345 gross, 318 net tons. ON102065, 145.8 x 27.05 x 11.1. Built 1885 Grangemouth DD and SB Co. Grangemouth. First registered GT Nicoll, purchased and sold 1904 to EJ Crisp, registered the vessel at Auckland (30/1903) for a syndicate who later formed "The Ship Ilma Ltd) at Gisborne. Sold in 1908 to Edward Pike and Co Ltd., timber millers etc. Sydney registered Sydney 43/1908. 1911 sold to JC Edwards, registered Hobart 6/1911 and in 1919 sold to Union SS Co. of NZ Ltd., who converted her into a hulk (I Farquhar, 'Union Fleet 1875-1975) she was converted to a hulk in Hobart by the Union Co. in 1911, which does not agree with the Customs register, but it seems the Union Co. acquired her c.1914 when she was being used as a store ship, and due to wartime shortage of shipping re-rigged her as a barque in 1917, then in 1919 converted to a hulk in Auckland, and fitted her out at a coal bunkering elevator in 1922 for Wellington. Scuttled in Cook Strait Feb. 11, 1937]

[General description] Business premises on the southern side of Rundle Street between Union Street and Frome Street. On the corner of Union Street is Solomon Rosengarten Pawnbrokers, Charles Bicknell Saddler. A horse and cart and a bicycle are stationary and women are walking under the shady verandahs. [On back of photograph] Acre 90.Rundle Street, south side, 1909-14. Probably 1909. See B 7787/22. On the left is Union Street. The extreme right is three and a half yards east of Tavistock Street.

[General description] This two storey hotel is built in the neo classical style and has a rendered facade and decorative mouldings around its arched windows. It has a moulded crown and anchor insignia displayed on the parapet above its corner entrance. It stands on the site of the original Union Inn Arms Hotel (1847-1851), its first licensee being James Ellery (7-4-1853). [On back of photograph] 'Acre 97 / Grenfell Street, north side / West corner of Union Street / July 31st 1928 / Measurements of hotel: Grenfell Street frontage (2 storey part) is 13 yards / Union Street frontage (2 storey part) is 19 yards' (Another hand) 'Enlarged and altered in 1928/9. Owners: W Thomas and Co. registered Liverpool. Sold 1905 to Russian owners without change of name. Sold and converted to a hulk at Auckland in 1911, the property of Union SS Co. Re-rigged as a sailing vessel; in 1918 and renamed Gladbrook. Once more converted to a hulk in 1921, this time at Suva for Union Line.
