[General description] "Neidpath", a mansion in the Federation style, complete with gables, wide verandahs and cupola tower, probably built in late 1890s. It is the family home of James Wigham McGregor, wool broker and scourer, woolen cloth manufacturer and pastoralist. He founded the firm of J.W. McGregor and Sons, Limited, woolbrokers and established the Torrenside woollen mills at Thebarton. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 760 / No. 125 Strangways Terrace, / October 23rd 1928 / Far side of house is 45.5 yards east of Gibbon Street and frontage of building is 24 yards' (Another hand) 'Additional rooms added on west side in 1928-9).
