Summary

[General description] This single storey symmetrical cottage has an iron roof, a concave style verandah and a picket fence. Next door is J.E. Hudson, Fruiterer and Greengrocer, who also sells Woodroffe's drinks. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 785 / Archer Street, south side, July 11, 1927. / Frontage of cottage: 10 yards'.

General notes

The house on the corner of Archer Street and Boulton Street, North Adelaide was built by Philippe Le Cornu c. 1879. He paid £150 for the land in 1875. Philippe was the father of the founder (Phillip Joshua Le Cornu) of the 'P. Le Cornu' business on O'Connell Street, North Adelaide. The sign on the right hand side reads 'P. Le Cornu, undertaker'.
