[General description] This two storey stone building is in the Greek Revival style with a recessed portico featuring tall Ionic columns. The Reverend James Jefferis began his ministry in this Hall in May 1859 and a fellowship was formed in October of that year. LeFevre Terrace

LeFevre Terrace between Tynte Street and Gover Street, on the Tynte Street corner. These houses occupy the entire frontage of Acre 870. The houses shown in the photograph consist of a grand two storey return verandah bluestone house and two smaller but very elegant two storey houses alongside. With Parkland frontage these houses add elegance and character to Lefevre Terrace. They were designed and built in the 1880s by Joseph English, son of Architect Thomas English. The centre house was home to the prosperous jeweller Henry Steiner. This jeweller was accredited with completing a commission to craft the mayoral badge and chain which was presented to the City.

The ground floor has been influenced by the bungalow style of the day and features heavy pillars. [General description] Walkerville Ales are advertised on the wall of this hotel which was built in 1870 and is still extant in 2017. Mr. J.H. Carter is the licensee (from 1913-1922) at the time this photograph was taken. Tram wires hang over the intersection and lines are seen on the street. Note the large utility pole on the right.
