[General description] This new two-storey outpatient building, situated on the corner of King William Road and Kermode Street, includes resident medical quarters, an X-ray department, ENT and eye theatres and a pharmacy. The buillders have not quite finished yet as there are bags and builders rubble in front of the building and the windows glass is papered for protection. [General description] Single storey bluestone building housing the Creveen School in Kermode Street in North Adelaide. Several small children and a teacher can be seen peeping out of windows. The small square building is entered directly from the street and has a window either side of the central front door and a cellar. The building next door appears to be a church. Creveen was an exclusive girls private school. [General description] This stone faced red brick building has had several alterations starting with the centre ground floor section. Creveen was an private secondary school for girls run by the Misses Kathleen and Rita Cussen from 1900 to 1936. Stone building with stained glass windows was originally a church until the Institute of the Blind took it over in 1884. In 1903 the society was renamed the Royal Institution for the Blind. The front garden has a picket fence and young palm trees each side of the gate. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 726 / Brougham Place, south side / 1909 / Left side is 14 yards west of Bower Street. [General description] This modest Baptist chapel was purpose built in 1843 and its first service was conducted on the 19th November, 1843 . It is single fronted with a mullion window on each side of the front door and a front verandah supported by four posts. There is a decorative niche above the entrance which bears the name of the church and the date of its construction. See B 2058 for a view before its renovation as a private house. It still stands in 2015. [General description] The Children's Hospital, built in 1879, dominates this view taken from Brougham Gardens looking across the Poole Street / Brougham Place intersection. This rear aspect of the Hospital building was the most familiar to passers-by. See B 10695 for the front view. [General description] This two storey stone building with gables is the Angas Building, paid for entirely by John Howard Angas, a continuing benefactor of the Children's hospital. It was opened in 1894 on the King William Road frontage of the Hospital complex. A large covered wagon drawn by two horses stands in front of the building. Adelaide Children's Hospital, East front, 1894, with part of Acre 732 in the foreground. Children are sitting on the lawn outside. For the exact site see the Cadastrel Survey Plan, 1880. The Adelaide Children's Hospital was established in 1876 to help the poor and destitute children of Adelaide. Land was purchased in North Adelaide (the current site of the WCH) for the sum of £2,500 and the Foundation stone was laid on June 20 1878
