The ground floor is open for vehicles to access. This large building dwarfs its neighbours; on the left F.R Payne, Duco specialist and on the right a pair of early cottages is squeezed between Milburn's and T.C. Hubbard's Motor Parts. [General description] This is a new two storey brick factory building. Its steel-frame, industrial windows are frosted to provide light and cut out glare. [General description] Stow Church was designed by architect Robert Thomas in the Gothic Revival style, and completed in 1865. The tower was never completed. It was built as a memorial for pioneering Congregational minister of South Australia, Thomas Quinton Stow. In this view utility wires are strung past the front of the building. They are built from stone and have corrugated iron roofs and awnings, each awning with cast iron decoration. Other terrace houses can be seen on the left. The single two storey building on the right is the premises of Walmsley and Burgess, patternmaker's. Tramlines and an ornate pole can be seen on Pulteney Street. [General description] This two storey stone hotel has a decorative wooden balcony over its front doorway, which is situated on the street corner. The hotel dates back to 1858 when it was first named the Labour in Vain. From 1862 until 12th August, 1954 it was known as the Perseverance Hotel, and from then on the Hanson. At the time this photograph was taken the licensee was Tom Kain. Latty's boot and shoe maker is next door and further along is pair of two storey houses.
