J.J. Dunn's Producers' Club Hotel, Grenfell Street, south side, August 29th 1941, frontage of Hotel is 25 yards. This hotel existed from 1839 and has been known as Woodman Inn, Electric Light, Producers Hotel. John Joseph Dunn was the proprietor at the time of this photograph.

[General description] Shiny new cars can be seen in the showroom windows of two motor firms which occupy this new building which is Art Deco in its design. Two smart cars are parked at the kerb near a petrol bowser. On the right a two storey house, huddled against the new building, is for sale with agents F.W. Bullock and Company. South side / June 10, 1927 / Vivian Lewis' premises erected in 1926, on a vacant site (except for the existence of a large corrugated structure standing back about 20 yds. from the road). [General description] On the left is S.A. Motor Painters and A.S. Adamson Coach and Motor Trimmers. A hand barrow is propped in front of the building. In the centre an old buckboard truck is parked in front of a row of cottages. On the right is the premises of G J Wheeler (known as Cheapside House) which had its second storey added in 1909; previously it had been rented since 1888 from its owner John Follett. Another drapery business by a John Ford operated there between 1882 and 1888.[On back of photograph] 'Acre 321 / Morphett St., east side / Sep. 30, 1925 / Left side of Adamson's is 71 yards north of Grote Street. Men push hand barrows. The car driving towards the camera (registration 59491) is a 1926 23.8hp Dodge Tourer owned by F. Whibley, 103 The Parade, Norwood. The fourth, angle-parked vehicle on the right (registration 56894) is a 1926 Overland tray top lorry owned by F.Johns, Frederick street, Hilton. The vehicle second from left (registration 26362) is a 1924 21hp gray tray top truck (known as a C cab), owned by T.Shueard of Ambleside, Hahndorf.
