Summary

[General description] The workshop of R.B Metcalf, Motor Engineer and dealers in Dodge cars and Graham trucks. On the left is a car on a raised platform with a ramp which creates a pit for the mechanic to access the underside of the vehicle. See B 4803 for a full view of this business premises. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 906 / O'Connell Street, west side / May 27th 1928 / Workshop erected in 1927 on a site formerly occupied by a cottage which was demolished before a photograph could be taken / Site of workshop: Right side is 21 yards south of Lombard Street. Frontage is 14 yards / It stands back 16 1/2 yards from O'Connell Street'.
