Model T Ford on a farm near Burra

Model T Ford on a farm near Burra

BURRA : According to a researcher this vehicle is a Model T Ford 'buckboard' in use by the Postmaster General's Department. It looks to be a 1917 model (but could be as late as 1923) but has a locally-built body of a type that dates from about 1914. The black rod-like device behind the rear of the vehicle could well be a ladder, with the branding 'P.M.G.' on it, in which case it is probably leaning against a telephone pole that is out of site behind the cabin of the buckboard.
