A truck, identified as 'Wholesalers Mt. Gambier' parked on the side of the road; the body of the truck carries pictures of 'Kream Brand corn flour' and 'Dandy gloss starch' which were 'manufactured by Maize Products Proprietary Limited, Victoria'. Truck is a British Bedford delivery van c. 1934.


Loading a vehicle onto the back of a truck
One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image shows an enclosed vehicle belonging to the Methodist Inland Mission being driven onto the tray of H.E. Ding's truck, using a bank as a loading ramp. The activity is being watched by a number of men. The mission vehicle is being loaded onto the Mail truck for a river crossing at Birdsville. George Williams on left, his father Harry is on the truck bonnet.

One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image shows a heavily loaded truck stopped along a track in the Far North, with a number of men on and beside it. The truck is the Birdsville Mail truck typically negotiating a damp Birdsville Track, with help from some of the passengers.


H. E. Ding's truck on the Birdsville Track
One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image is of five men and another person on or near a loaded truck, identified as belonging to H.E. Ding of Yunta. The truck is stuck in sand, a wooden pole between the dual wheels for traction. Two poles were standard equipment and carried on the truck under the tray.

Cards produced as an intiative of the Friends of the Prospect Library with the co-operation of the Prospect Local History Collection.' GENERAL: An early make Ford one ton truck. According to a researcher, although this Model TT truck dates from 1918 to about 1923, it is fitted with earlier looking kerosene side lights. The brass-rimmed and brass-topped lamps were used in 1915.

A truck [registration number 132-384] belonging to Stevens & Boucaut, Shipping and Customs Agents, Port Adelaide, with a load covered by a tarpaulin on the back; the driver is believed to be Glen. It is a 1934 Ford truck, probably a 4 cylinder model as although the V8 was available at this time as well, it does not have the V8 symbol on the grille. (information provided by researcher).
