BMC 245-F Myer flatbed furniture truck, which was used for customer's home deliveries. The engine was inside the cab with no insulation to stop the heat and sound from the engine. The petrol engine would get hot in summer and the fuel near the engine would vaporise, and the engine would stop. The driver would have to sit until the engine cooled down.

Collection of photographs showing the life and conditions of sheep stations that Clement Penfold Smith worked on including Outalpa and Weekeroo near Mannahill, northeast of Peterborough, and Coola, near Mount Gambier. They show the homesteads, gardens, livestock, tanks, and land. Coola Station was 20 miles from Mount Gambier, comprising 13000 acres, and carried 6000 sheep and 1000 Hereford cattle.

Photographs and slides relating to Coober Pedy
Photographs selected to be incorporated into a book about Coober Pedy. Initial discussions took place between John Dallwitz and Rigby Ltd. in 1977 but it is unclear as to whether the book was published. Photographs were to be used in various chapters .... which was to be titled 'Photographic essay of present day Coober Pedy'. Also an index to the photographs. Not all the photographs have been digitised. Also includes colour slides with the name 'Busbridge' on them.

Includes images of A, B, C, G, H, M and old K lines in Plant 1, work on Plant 10 and 11 buildings, new machinery installed including Udylite chrome plating machine, Rectifier platform, Udylite Copper Plating Machine during installation, Clearing 144" Hyprodraw Press, copper, chrome and nickel plating machinery, and Bratby washing machine. Also contains photographs of houses to be demolished on Railway Terrace, and other areas in and around the Woodville plant.


E.F.S. Appliance, Pinnaroo
Pinnaroo E.F.S. appliance (Blitz vehicle with Coventry Climax engine). The man standing up in the middle of the truck is Maurice O'Loughlin. The following information was provided by a researcher: This truck is a Chevrolet Blitz, one of the many ex-Army vehicles purchased by Peter R. Peers from Army disposal sales. He was in business at Murrayville, Victoria, across the border from Pinnaroo. The man standing on the rear of the truck is Keith Jolly. The truck was purchased by the Pinnaroo District Council to be used as a firetruck, in October 1948. Pirie Street, Adelaide
[General description] This photograph illustrates the passing of the horse drawn era: a livery stable is converted to a motor business. The Republic Motor Truck Company was a famous manufacturer of commercial trucks circa 1913 - 1929, in Alma, Michigan. Their trucks were used extensively by the Americans in World War One. [On back of photograph] Acre 160 / Pirie Street. North side / Feb. 28, 1926 / Right side of Republic Motor Truck Sales Co.'s premises is 18 yards west of Ackland Street. Frontage: 21.5 yards. For photo. of premises taken in 1922 prior to conversion see B 1103.' (Another hand) 'Converted in 1925'.

Colin Faulkner ('Knocker') White is leaning against the driver's door.
