A small train engine on a raised railway track near a wharf. According to a researcher, this view is of the Goolwa barrage. The report in the Chronicle, 13 April 1939, p.46. mentions the coffer dam, which is to the left outside the photo, holding back the water so that the loco track can convey material to the works on the bottom of the channel. The date is probably 1936-37 - work began in May 1935 and finished in 1940.
