Trade union banner produced for the South Australian Society of Coachmakers circa 1886, constructed of two layers of painted silk taffeta with an internal lining of linen. (The Union was formed in 1883.) Also (D 8824/2) 3.87m timber support pole with ornamental ends. Ends have faded gold paint with red and blue band painted around narrowest points.

[General description] The brand new number 23 bus to Glenelg, with an open top popular at the time. It has the following advertisement for Berger Paints painted on its side: 'Berger's Roof Paints; They keep on keeping on'. It is a double decker Railways Bus, Garford Model CB with 57 seat South Australian Railways Workshops (Islington, Adelaide) body of 1926. Taken over by Municipal Tramways Trust, Adelaide, 1927 and renumbered 201. In retrospect (reminiscences)

'In retrospect', the reminiscences of Arthur White of his nearly 50 years' service with the South Australian Railways (1887-1935). He notes in his foreword that 'the reminiscences do not purport to be completely historical ... the collection ... has been written mainly from memory, excepting where dates and references to Acts of Parliament, etc. have been used'. 1 June 1935. He includes anecdotes of officialdom, personalities, aspects of running a railway (eg ash pits, tickets, loco workshops), activities involving the employees, some of the local railways and costs.
