Casual portrait of a man wearing a patterned short sleeve shirt with a glasses case in the top pocket. According to a researcher, the man is Wally Bottom, of 'Bottom and Clarke' Transport out of Broken Hill. He was later the manager of Silverton Transport in Broken Hill.

An album and scrapbook initially kept by Jane McColl, daughter of James Ramsay McColl, showing the family and family home 'Largs Villa' at Woodville, her father and his employees in the marine plumbing business at Port Adelaide, and her brothers and cousins, some of whom found work on coastal steamers around Australia, including ports in Queensland, Sydney, Albany and Wyndham in Western Australia. The album was lent for copying and the State Library does not hold the original.

The print depicts a view of King William Street looking South, with trams on the line, cars parked at the curb and driving on the street, and people walking on the footpaths. Adelaide Town Hall is in view further along the street. The T&G Building was opened in November 1925 and it appears a crane is adding soem finishing touches to the building. The artwork is numbered 'edtn [edition] 60', titled and signed by the artist.

Caroline Gribbin, c. 1842-1912; nee Spargo and Bunney (Bonney), married James Gribbin, then Stephen Moyle. Arrived in South Australia in July 1848 on board the ship the "Sibella". Resided in Allen's Creek, Kapunda, Wallaroo Mines, Appila-Yarrowie, Kadina, Parkside; Broken Hill, New South Wales. Worked possibly as brothel keeper (Parkside, 1883); storekeeper (Broken Hill).

A black and white etching printed on paper, engraved using a hatching technique with tonal degradations and isolated linework. The scene depicts a landscape looking at a rise with a tree on top and hazy treed hills in the distance. A broken post and wire fence sits across the foreground. Image may possibly encompass the Adelaide Hills. Signed and titled by the artist; number 15 of an edition of 26. A printers' embossing reading 'The Aldgate Press, South Australia' is on the lower right corner of the paper.

Kaines Collection

Collection of 15 photograph albums, containing 2943 photographs taken by Jack Kaines from the time he finised school until the end of World War II. The photographs act as a pictorial documentary of his life showing the places he traveled to around South Australia and Australia, including many roadtrips and daytrips visiting friends and family. Many of the photographs show the various cars that he owned. The photographs taken during World War II initially show many other Servicemen, but subsequently become mostly tourist shots. Except for a small number of photographs taken in Fiji, the collection ends with his war photographs, and the last 30 years of his life is not captured in this collection. A selection of photographs from his albums have been digitised and can be searched on PRG 1638.
