Summary

Iron Knob Mine and cutting on a hill on the Eyre Peninsula. Iron ore was first mined here by Broken Hill Proprietary Company for use in lead smelters at Port Pirie. The mining of the 60% pure iron ore was the beginning of the Australian Steel Industry.
