Ltd, registered Sydney later Sailing Ship 'Daniel' Ltd. converted to a hulk at Sydney c.1924. (Instead of a figurehead she had a lot of beautiful scroll work on her stem head and this has been preserved at the Snapper Island Training establishment in Sydney Harbour)].

Sold to owners in the Solomon Islands and left Australia in January 1966. Subsequently returned and is now acting a replica of Captain Cook's 'Endeavour' at a marine park in Queensland]

Sold in 1895, she became the Norwegian 'Prince John' and was acquired in 1905 by JJ Craig, registered Auckland and renamed 'Selwyn Craig'. Sold in 1911 to the Union SS Co. of New Zealand Ltd., she was converted into a hulk. The hulk sank in October 1919 in Auckland and was demolished by explosives in September 1922]

'Manurewa' iron barque 327 tons at Port Adelaide, with Birkenhead in the background. [iron 3 mast barque, 371 gross tons ON89648. 143.1 x 26.1 x 13.0. Built 1884 (12) Murdoch and Murray, Port Glasgow. Owners: George Wood, registered London; 1897 Hugh Munro, registered Lyttelton, and name changed in November 1899 to 'Manurewa'. Munro sells in 1904. He had been in association with AH Turnbull from 1904 until 1908. The owners were GT Nichol and partners; 1909 RS Lamb and partners, registered Sydney, later AS Paterson and Co., who were the owners when the vessel went missing. She sailed from Newcastle NSW March 22, 1922, and was not seen again and presumed to have foundered with the loss of all hands]

(Brodersen Vaughan and Co. registered Liverpool sold c.1910 and renamed Celtic Glen by Celtic Glen Co. (R. Hughes-Jones and Co.) registered Liverpool. Sold and renamed Riverford, then in 1918 sold Marine Nav. Co. of Canada Ltd and renamed Garthforce. Collided with an iceberg sout of Cape of Good Hope in 1921 and was towed into Durban and sold for conversion into a hulk.]

Glasgow. Owners: B Wencke and Son registered Hamburg. Later P Laeisz, registered Hamburg and renamed 'Pommern'. Allocated to Greece as war reparations 1922 to Gustaf Erikson, preserved in a nautical museum at Mariehamn, taken out of service in 1953]

The steel ship 'Pass of Balmaha', 1571 tons, in an unidentified harbour [steel ship, 1571 tons, ON95087, 245.5 x 38.8 x 22.5. Built 1888 (8) R Duncan and Co., Port Glasgow. Owners: Gibson and Clark, registered Glasgow. During WW1 was captured and taken to Germany and refitted as a commerce raider and named 'Seeadler' under the command of von Luckner and sank a number of ships before being wrecked in August 1917 in the Society group. 'The Sea Devil' by Lowell Thomas, (W Heinemann Ltd., 1928) gives extensive coverage to this vessel)].

Ges, Bremerhaven, as 'RC Rickmers', captured in British port on outbreak WW1, renamed 'Neath'. Built for Rickmers Co., registered Bremerhaven until 1914. Fitted with a screw operated by a triple expansion recip. steam engine of 125nhp. Torpedoed March 27, 1917 by German submarine, 28 miles off the Fastnet. No lives lost but master taken prisoner].

Owners c.1870 E Gellately, registered London c.1874 Shaw, Savill who later merged with the Albion Company form Shaw, Savill and Albion Ltd., who registered their ships in Southampton,eventually converted into a freezer hulk in New Zealand and the remains were recently subject of an attempt to restore the vessel as a museum].

Henderson and Co.) registered Glasgow: c.1872/3 Shaw, Savill and Co., registered Southampton, later Shaw, Savill and Albion Ltd. 1896 G McClatchie, registered Lyttelton: 1900 F Holm, registered Wellington: 1911 Helen Denny Ltd: 1912 Paparoa Coal Co. and converted to a hulk. Sold to Union SS Co. of NZ Ltd., 1928. Sunk off Cuvier Island, NZ April 27 1948 at the end of a useful life. Built for the UK -Burma run but quickly transferred to UK-NZ line where she enjoyed a good reputation. Sold in 1896 continued trade out of NZ until converted into a coal hulk.
