Summary

'Rona' iron barque 618 tons in dry dock [iron 3 mast barque, 678 gross, 618 net tons, ON90129, 192.2 x 30.15 x 16.0. Built 1885 Workman, Clark and Co. Ltd. Belfast as 'Polly Woodside', renamed 1904. Owners: 1904 AH Turnbull and H Munro, registered Lyttelton. 1906 Colonial Sail Ship Co. Ltd. 1911 H Douglas, Fiji and others in New Zealand. 1916 H Scales (who incorporated a limited company in 1921. 1922 The Adelaide Steamship Company as a hulk. Now restored and on display in Melbourne as 'Polly Woodside']

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
