Built 1882 John E Bigelow, Canning, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Owners: 1882 WJ Stairs, Merchant. Halifax, Nova Scotia, registered Halifax 38/1882; May 1883 DH McKenzie and Partners, registered Auckland 6/1883; 1884 Donald Ross, major shareholder 40/64th; 1901 William Howard Smith and Sons Pty. Ltd., registered Melbourne 11/1901 and probably hulked. Register closed 1921 with 'Broken up', and most certainly was a hulk for much of her time on the Melbourne register]

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
