Owners: Sailing Ship Ellesmere Co. Ltd. (Fisher and Sprott) registered London. Sold of German owners before 1900 and renamed Schiffbek and altered to 4 mast barque rig. Hurst (Last of the Square Riggers) p. 127 says the ship was taken over by the Portuguese in 1917 and her fate is unknown. He incorrectly states the ship was built at Whitehaven].

ON102602, 280.8 x 40.5 x 24.6. Built 1893 (7) Russell and Co. Port Glasgow. Owners JR Dickson and Co. registered Glasgow, then Albyn Shipping. For a period during WW1 was renamed Eugenio Bruni but later reverted to Dowan Hill before being sold to Norwegian owners who renamed the vessel Snig].

The steel 5 masted barque 'Neath' with auxiliary engines, 5548 tons, in an unidentified harbour [steel 5 mast aux. barque, 5548 gross. 410.5 x 53.6 x 30.4. Built 1906. Rickmers, Akt. Ges, Bremerhaven, as 'RC Rickmers', captured in British port on outbreak WW1, renamed 'Neath'. Built for Rickmers Co., registered Bremerhaven until 1914. Fitted with a screw operated by a triple expansion recip. steam engine of 125nhp. Torpedoed March 27, 1917 by German submarine, 28 miles off the Fastnet. No lives lost but master taken prisoner].

Finally converted into a barge at Los Angeles. Preserved in Hawaii].

Stranded at Tchio, New Caledonia, January 1898 and abandoned to underwriters as CTL Salvaged she was taken to Sydney and repaired and enrolled in the name of R. Walker, registered Sydney. Sold in 1904 to Hatfield, Cameron and Co., registered Glasgow. Wrecked when she ran ashore on Ballymacus Point, Ireland April 26, 1911 and became a total loss].
