Mounted soldiers of the South Australian Light Horse Regiment on parade for a Colour Presentation ceremony at Morphettville racecourse, South Australia. See B 10302 for a photo taken at almost the same time. This photo appeared in 'The Advertiser' Monday 21 September 1914, page 9: 'The above picture, taken from an elevated position, shows the 3rd Light Horse Regiment drawn up in line of troop on the Morphettville Racecourse after the Governor had presented the colours. Lieutenant-Colonel Rowell, I.O.C. shown in the immediate foreground with Major Fulton who is second in command. A little to the left behind the O.C. the Transport and Machine Gun Sections attached to the Regiment are depicted on the right and left flank of the troops'. See PRG 280/1/29/73 for another photo taken just seconds apart from this one.

No.1068 Lance Corporal Clifford Jabez Roy Labram, B Section, 4th Field Ambulance, was born on 10 May 1895 in Southwark, South Australia, the youngest son of Thomas Labram and Mary Jane nee Gill. Clifford was a labourer at the time of his attestation in September 1914. He served at Gallipoli and in France, being wounded in action twice, on 2 April 1917 and on 13 October 1917, and being awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field on 14 October 1917. Clifford died of wounds received in action on 14 October 1917. He is buried in the Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium.

No. 1296A Private Robert Hall Lawrie was born in Edinburgh Scotland in 1884. The nephew of Robert Hall of Kelmscott, Alberton, South Australia, Robert was a engine driver at the time of his attestation in September 1914. He served at Gallipoli, Egypt and France, returning to Australia in November 1918. After WWI Robert worked with H.M. Customs, he never married and died at Semaphore on 16 May 1959. He was buried in Cheltenham Cemetery.

Mentioned in dispatches for distinguished and gallant services and devotion to duty by General Sir E.H.H. Allenby, Commander in Chief Egyptian Expeditionary Force, 3 April 1918. Died South Australia 25 March 1957.
