Duryea's Adelaide Album 2

An album compiled by Adelaide photographer, Townsend Duryea, with the title 'Duryea's Adelaide Album' embossed on the front cover. The first 'page' is a panorama of Adelaide, comprising five roughly uniform panels, mounted on linen to form a continuous image 12.5 x 89.5 mm (the linen measures 248 x 940 mm, and folds into three equal sections to fit into the album). The other photographs in the album show King William Street, Victoria Square, the Torrens River and Botanic Gardens. A book plate at the front indicates that it was originally owned by Edward Angas Johnson.

The 'maples' appear to be the older girls. Two handwritten notes on the back [not contemporary with the photo] read 'Margaret Joan Martin (nee Howell) 2 up LHS' and 'Helen Mae Martin 2nd row 5 in from right 4 in from Margaret'.

Adelaide Festival of Arts projects

The series consists of photographs, negatives, transparencies and documents relating to proposals, and projects undertaken by Ostoja-Kotkowski, for the Adelaide Festival of Arts. They include sound and image productions, floats, chromasonic towers, festival decorations, and exhibitions. It includes 'Genesis' designed in 1962 which was Ostoja's first attempt to present photographic images synchronised with sound. The 1968 Sound and Image production used a laser beam for the first time. 'Time Riders' was produced for the 1970 festival. Ostoja combined dreamtime legends with poetry by Judith Wright, Roland Robinson, Kenneth Slessor and Max Harris. Collection of lantern slides, created by Raymond Gordon. Gordon travelled widely in South Australia and to the Northern Territory. Views include Mount Gambier, Barmera, Adelaide and the Ungarra district, Eyre Peninsula. Prints and negatives of some slides are also held in other series (Series 1, 3, and 4) and have been digitised in those. Listed below is a selection of the slides. Many of the slides have been digitised in series 3 and are not repeated in this list. Slides taken in the Middle East also have not been listed or digitised.
