A researcher has provided the following information: 'The photograph shows The 'Wennington', the first iron clipper ship built at New Quay Lancaster in 1865, at low tide, shortly after her launch and during fitting out. Lancaster Castle and the Priory Church of St. Mary can be seen to the left of the ship. The Port of Lancaster is situated on the River Lune, in north west England. Wennington is a village in the Lune Valley, though not on the Lune itself.'
