Photographs of W.A. Robjohns
The series comprises 15 albums housing 1,973 photographs, most of which were taken by photographer W.A. Robjohns ca.1920-1966. Album covers were numbered and labelled by Robjohns. The sequence is incomplete, however, as only volumes 1-9, 12-14, 15, 20 and 23 have been donated. Robjohns' brief descriptions of content on the covers and spines are incomplete. For further descriptions of place names and subjects contained in each album, SEE details below. The albums contain small black and white prints, mostly undated, with captions by W.R. Robjohns. Also sepia and postcard prints, and a few hand-tinted prints. A small number of images were taken by other photographers, several of whom have been identified by Robjohns. Images depict Adelaide suburbs, city scenes and country towns, with an emphasis on rural landscapes, parks and reserves, rivers, reservoirs, streets, houses, churches, businesses and shop fronts, and public celebrations and processions. Also included are images of the Robjohns family on picnics and holiday outings, and their homes, cars and pets. A number of photos were duplicated or enlarged by Robjohns and appear in more than one album.

Photographs from Harry Godson's collection which had been given his catalogue numbers but were not included in earlier digitised series 1-4. His numbers are included in caption details. Among the collection are photographs from the PS 'Marion' on its last trip from Berri to Mannum in June 1963 before being handed over to Mannum National Trust (images 32-63). Most images undated. Buxton scrapbook
Scrapbook album relating to the activities of Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton (Governor of SA from 1895-1898) and his family. It contains 98 original photos, as well as newspaper cuttings, watercolour paintings and letters. Possibly compiled by Lady Buxton. The majority are identified or annotated in the compiler's hand, sometimes using terminology that is today considered inappropriate.

Other images feature Maggie, her family and staff enjoying the food they have prepared. Also including images of bespoke farmers and farming processes like harvesting honey from apiary slats, extracting wine and verjuice from grapes, dairy processes, yabby foraging and Maggie at the Adelaide Central Markets. Images are curated into 'seasons', for example Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. A selection of 84 images have been prepared to view online, with approximately 3300 images accessible onsite via the Somerville Reading Room.

Pupils of Poonindie School that opened on April 25th, 1897. Names are listed with the original photograph. Information with original photograph reads: 'Mr Rose is the teacher. In his professional capacity he received eighty pounds per year. Quite an early Government school. Many private schools existed. Fees were 6 to 11 shilllings per week. Usually built of "slab and pug". Teachers high waist coat, long coat and high collar was summer and winter attire.
