A formal group of young men in army uniform described as the 1st Commonwealth Cadets, photographed after their return from attending the coronation of King George V in England. The photo was taken behind the Adelaide Town Hall, and the five South Australian members were all from St Peter's College. Captain A. Rushall is 4th from left in the front row, with Lieutenant H. Thornton to his right (3rd from left). It is believed 2nd from left in the front row is M. W. Woodley; with J.D. Gilbert 2nd from tight in the front row. Third from left in the middle row is H.L. Davidson, with J.G. Murray to his left (4th from left).

Many are taken at the family home 'Valhalla' at 31 Verona Street, North Kensington; and others at a community playground in Corinda Avenue, Kensington Park. There is also a sequence taken on a family holiday to the Darling - Murray region, including Mildura and Wentworth in the 1930s.

The Arrival of Sir Henry Galway on the "Marion" to lay the foundation stone of the Blanchetown Lock on 5 June 1915. "An Army of Politicians" attended this grand occasion. There were 120 passengers including crew with the official party who boarded the "Marion" in Murray Bridge after travelling by rail from Adelaide. The William R Randell Lock was the first link in the chain in the development of harnessing and controlling the River Murray. The lock was named in honour of the pioneer of river navigation in the 1880s

Village settlement of Holder on the River Murray which was established in 1894 at a time of severe drought, high unemployment and the beginning of the Depression. The intention was to retain South Australian men of capital, energy and talent from deserting South Australia. The waste lands along the River Murray were irrigated into usable land. Although the settlement supported 260 people it was abandoned in 1903. The photograph shows a collection of houses and barns surrounded by scrubland.
