Bower's winding engine house. Was used for hauling from Greens and Gergussons shafts. Prince Edward and George (King GeorgeV) were taken underground at Greens shaft at Moonta. The driver of the engine on that occasion was Thomas Trezise c. 1881. The princes aged 17 and 15 were training as midshipmen on HMS Bacchante which arrived in Albany. They crossed to South Australia on a passenger vessel. Part of their reply to the welcome speech included the following "Sons of the Duke of Cornwall, who has bade us say how much he regrets not yet himself to have visited your colony, we rejoiced at Moonta to find ourselves in the midst of so many miners and true hearted Cornishmen".
