Comprising a composite of aerial photographs created in order to interpret geology for map making at Thompson Gap Diapir, north of Port Augusta in the Flinders Ranges and a negative of the final edit of the published map entitled 'Thompson Gap Diapir' (TJM 1971). Mount describes the photographs as the original interpreted geology overlay photographs of the area. The interpreted geology overlay work in black ink, was the first detailed map of the Thompson Gap Diapir. The documents were created as part of Mount's University of Adelaide Bachelor of Science (Geology) Doctorate thesis, and were later referred to by the South Australian Lands Department.
