Shows Daly River as explored by John McKinlay and party in the 'Julia' in August 1866. Compilation attributed to Robert Henry Edmunds who was surveyor for this expedition (see his diary at D 8043(L)). Includes the extent of the course of the 'Julia' and that of its gig along the Daly River, with some notes on the channel, vegetation and topography. Also Anson Bay, at the river's mouth. Ink on paper.

Plan and description of the South Australian Company's run near Mount Gambier, in the County of Grey, containing more or less one hundred and eighty square miles. Shows position of Home Station, Wool Shed and huts, and German Creek and large Plain (swampy in winter) at west end near Lake Bonney. Boundary lines of run shown in miles, with adjoining landowners' names, from Mount Gambier in clockwise direction: Leake, D. Black, Johnston, Mitchell, Davenport, and Leake. Northern point at Bald Hill, with Mount Gambier Police Station, Mount Schank and Mitchell's Hill indicated outside run. Ink on paper, faint ink notation. Signed by William Giles, Manager S.A. Compiled and drawn in the Office of the Post Master General and Superintendent of Telegraphs in 1873, this map shows the boundaries of Hundreds and Counties of the northern most section of the telegraph and includes natural features of the country from surveys and explorations made by the Surveyor General, telegraph construction parties and others. There are manuscript additions showing the route of McMinn's exploring party, signed by Jno.H.P. in 1877.
