Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide
Corner of north side of Hindmarsh Square and west side of Pulteney Street, on November 12th, 1897. The view features the premises of Griffiths Brothers, tea, coffee and cocoa importers and merchants. Griffiths Brothers was founded in 1879. Next door is Robert Harper & Co.'s warehouse. The extreme right is 17 yards north of Hindmarsh Square.


Hindmarsh Square, Adelaide
[General description] The remodelled premises of softgoods merchant R.S. Tanner are dwarfed by the Foy & Gibson building behind. The building, which has an Art Deco facade is named 'Spinner house' presumably after F.S. Walton, cotton spinners and manufacturers whose firm occupies part of the building. Cars are parked in Hindmarsh Square. Clarkson's Hindmarsh Square
[General description] This is a view of a group of buildings in the north-eastern side of Hindmarsh Square. Clarkson Plate Glass and Mirror Works can be seen behind the premises of Gebhardt and Moreland's Saw Works. Beyond the trees of the Square city buildings can be seen, including some smoking chimneys. On the centre right are the premises of W. Darby, monumental masons.
