Prospect carnival procession
The Hindmarsh Volunteer Fire Brigage participanting in a procession to the Prospect Oval for a carnival in aid of the Australian Soldiers Repatriation Fund. The Register newspaper of 20 November 1916 reported "the smart-looking turnout of the Hindmarsh Fire Brigade."

A row of shops shaded by verandahs include JF Evans, General Draper; T Matthews, Hairdresser; Ezywalkin; Melocks Ham Shop and the Lady Daly Hotel named after the wife of South Australia's Governor, Sir Dominick Daly. A dispensary can be seen further down Port Road and even some wagons are visible on the dirt road heading for Adelaide
