[General description] This is the G.R. Wills and Company Clothing factory, built of red brick, which was opened in 1910. It was considered at the time to be a 'model establishment' in its care of its 400 workers, about two thirds of whom were women. The premises are to let. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 86 / North west corner of Hindmarsh Square / and Pulteney Street. / December 15th 1927 / Shop fronts installed and other alterations effected in 1928. See B5133. / On the right is Martin Lane. Left side of three storey brick building is 33.5 yards west of Pulteney Street.'

North west corner of Pulteney Street and Hindmarsh Square. The Adelaide Motor Car Works building stands on the corner and is part of several buildings making up this business. Drivers and cars are parked outside the premises.

Pulteney Street, west side. Hindmarsh Square on the left and Martin Lane on the right. Photograph taken October 1897. The prominent building on the corner of Martin Lane houses Robert Harper and Company importers of tea, coffee, rice and estern produce. The sign above says "Oriental Mills".

[General description] This bluestone building is the premises for P.J. Williams' Bicycle Depot with their 'Manufactory and Repair Workshop' on the far right. Some men pose with bicycles at the kerb. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 87 / North east corner of Pulteney Street and Hindmarsh Square / 1895' (Another hand) 'Corner building altered and partly demolished in 1935 (see B 6814)'.

Hindmarsh Square, north side, east of Pulteney Street, March 31st 1937, left side of the garage is 49 yards east of Pulteney Street and frontage is 20 yards. The garage was erected in 1936 on a vacant site. Foy and Gibson is written above the entrance.

[General description] Parked cars, trees and the premises of Ronald S. Tanner. The large building behind Tanner's was the premises of Foy & Gibson's until the mid fifties when the department store became Cox Foys and moved further west along Rundle Street. The building was taken over by various Government Departments, later demolished mid 70s.
