Mount while employed as a geologist by Delhi Petroleum/Santos Ltd (Adelaide) in the exploration for oil and gas in the Cooper and Eromanga Basins. This major petroleum province is located in the Simpson Desert of far north eastern South Australia, and extends into Queensland. The images record a stage in the history of the area beginning with the early explorers (Bourke & Wills) who opened up the land ahead of the pastoralists (Kidman) and petroleum pioneers (Reg Sprigg, Bonython). At the start of the new millenium, the area was being developed for geothermal energy. See CONTENTS for more information and details.
