Comprising 34 X 35mm colour photo transparencies (slides) taken by Dr. Trevor J. Mount while employed as a geologist by Delhi Petroleum/Santos Ltd (Adelaide) in the exploration for oil and gas in the Cooper and Eromanga Basins. This major petroleum province is located in the Simpson Desert of far north eastern South Australia, and extends into Queensland. The images record a stage in the history of the area beginning with the early explorers (Bourke & Wills) who opened up the land ahead of the pastoralists (Kidman) and petroleum pioneers (Reg Sprigg, Bonython). At the start of the new millenium, the area was being developed for geothermal energy. See CONTENTS for more information and details.

Some of the images (in the number range 1-236) were taken during a trip when Bray was filming with John Sever for Channel 7 in 1981 for 'the State Affair Coorong Special'; others were taken during a second shoot re banding pelicans in 1983. (The book 'The Coorong', edited by John Noye, was used for reference purposes during these shoots.) Other photos were taken during trips made by Bray 'just to experience the wilderness and to photograph it'. See 'contents' for details of selected images.
