Henry McKinnon Muirhead
Portrait in pastels on brown paper of a seated man dressed in a coat, waistcoat and high collar, identified as Henry McKinnon Muirhead. A faint artist's signature and date sits in the bottom right corner. Part of the original framer's label and backing remains, with 'McKinnon Muirhead' written on. A conservation report by Artlab Australia states that the paper has most likely darkened over time, which unintentionally intensifies the contrast of the white highlights within the work. Horizontal lines across the paper are believed to have resulted from a processing problem with the paper, which has become visible over time.
