Sevenhill College and St. Aloysius' Church. The Jesuit church was established in 1851 and was built in the Gothic Revival style. The College was established in 1856 and by 1866 the college was housed in extensive grounds including playing fields. It was the only Roman Catholic educational establishment in South Australia. It operated until 1886

[General description] A family stand by alongside workmen holding a long pole at the Obelisk at Shoal Water Point, Franklin Harbour (near Cowell). The Obelisk was installed to warn ships off the Point where the ship 'Bannockburn' was stranded in November 1903.

Tantanoola railway station

Tantanoola railway station was built in 1880 and is one of the oldest remaining railway buildings in the South East of South Australia. The station was built as part of the rail link from Mount Gambier to Beachport which opened in 1879. The line was built to permit agricultural produce through to Beachport. This photograph taken between 1907 and 1911 shows a goods train stationary at the station building

Old fireplace at Whalers Bay, Thistle Island. Thistle Island was named by Matthew Flinders after John Thistle, master of the" Investigator" who was drowned nearby in 1802. Plentiful numbers of whales were noted in the area. A whaling station was built in 1838 on the island which is located 35 kilometres south east of Port Lincoln. The venture was abandoned in 1839. the photograph shows a gentleman looking at the remains of the limestone fireplace.

[General description] A group of men, some who would be the lighthouse keepers pose for the photographer in front of the the Troubridge Island Lighthouse and cottages, built in 1855-56. Troubridge Island is part of the Troubridge Shoal in Investigator Strait, between Kangaroo Island and Yorke Peninsula. Many ships were wrecked or grounded here before the lighthouse was installed.

[General description] St. Augustine's Church, Unley, designed by colonial architect Thomas English and constructed from Glen Osmond stone in 1868. It was one of two suburban churches built during the time of Bishop Augustus Short. A new larger building was added in 1922 (B 2387.
