Owners: Samuel Lowden (of Whitehaven, Cumberland) registered Liverpool, later Lowden Edgar and Co. registered Liverpool, eventually passed to Lever Murphy and Co. registered Valparaiso. Wrecked in the famous gale of Sept. 1. 1902 at Algoa Bay, South Africa when a large number of sailing ships were dashed to pieces].

Owners: T Connell (of Whitehaven) said to be 'overlooker' for Lowden at that place - Lowden did not own the ship at first), later W Lowden and Co., registered Liverpool and later a subsidiary of Lowden and Co. 'Strathclyde Shipping Co. Ltd.'].

[steel 4 mast ship, 2499 tons, ON99337, 304.0 x 43.1 x 24.1. Built 1891 (12) CJ Bigger, Londonderry. Owners: W Lowden and Co., registered Liverpool, sold c.1904/5 to Norwegians and now described as 4 mast barque and c.1911 passed to Uruguay and was broken up in Italy in 1922].
