Irrigation machinery, Renmark. The windmill is a 12.5 to 15 feet steel wings made in the period 1907 to 1913. This is a chain drive version, which makes it even more unusual when combined with the revolving tower. Some of these machines were still operating into the 1950's. [The tins were used for dipping the grapes in caustic soda and hot water, a process which split the skins and hastened the drying process. From here they were placed on drying racks, and then on sheets in the paddocks.]
