Their children were Alfred Ernest b.1873, Caroline b.1876, George Henry, b.1878, Eva May b.1880 at Prospect, Ethel Maud b.1883 at Nailsworth and Ada b.1888 at Nailsworth. GENERAL: A proud owner sitting on the back bumper of his 1926, 16.5 horsepower Essex Roadster motor car. The registration number 58807 was issued in May 1926 to H.L.C.R. Laurie, of 46 Pulsford Road Prospect. Essex cars were made by the Hudson Motor Company.

ALBUM: Photograph albums which belonged to the South Australian missionary, Lilla Lashmar, showing part of the life of the Anglican New Guinea Mission in Papua, 1929-1936. Album B 56981/1 (1929-1933), Album B 56981/2 (1933-1936). Photographs in Album 1 include mission buildings at Dogura and people attending mission conferences, indigenous people, including children, and Papua scenery. Lilla Lashmar and other mission staff were executed by the Japanese on Buna Beach in 1942.

Super Electra VHCXJ previously operated by Guinea Airways Ltd

L14 F62 Super Electra VH-CXJ (previously PK-AFP) built 1938 and sold to KNILM who operated the aircraft in Netherlands East Indies. Suffered straffing damage prior to escaping Batavia ahead of the Japanese advance in WWII. Acquired by USAAF and operated by Allied Directorate of Air Transport (ADAT). Crashed at Rockhampton 8 October 1942, following overhaul delivered to Guinea Airways, Parafield who completed a major reconstruction of the aircraft. March / April 1944 flew between Parafield and Katherine before being replaced. Aircraft sold by War Disposal Commission to Harold Mortimer and Arthur Bergen for £25. On 22 February 1947 it was moved to the backyard of Mortimer's house in Guilford Avenue, Prospect (see The Advertiser, 27 February 1947, pg. 3) where it was used as a garden shed before being sold as scrap in 1975. Album of 38 carte-de-visite and tintype photographs of the Kerr and Collins families. Some are named: 3. Mr E.J. Wivell, teacher of dancing & calisthenics; 28. Grandmother Collins; 31 & 33. John Thomas Collins, wife Margaret and sons Bruce, Walter, Percy and Thomas. (Some photographs taken in Melbourne.) Cover is ornate with metal decoration and brass clasp. The album has the inscription 'To Janet Kerr from her devoted friend William Sutherland as a Christmas Gift 25 December 1865'. The front page has 2 newspaper death notices, for Grace Kerr, daughter of Stair Kerr aged 64 years at Prospect (1917), and William Howard, husband of Eliza Howard, aged 68 years at 'Alsted Farm', Alma. The album bears the owner's name plate 'Mr J.T. Collins, Maitland'.

The album contains photographs relating primarily to the life of John Wilson Hursthouse (1913-1945) including family camping holidays to the South-East, Yorke Peninsula and Eyre Peninsula between 1925-1930; schooling at Queen's School, North Adelaide, and Roseworthy Agricultural College, Boy Scouts, Army training at Kapunda Military camp, shearing at Middle Camp near Cowell and Elbow Hill (1934-1936); wheat harvesting at Gum Park, Yongala 1937; and training as an RAAF pilot at Parafield Aerodrome. The album includes a family portrait of John (Jack) with his parents Calvert Fearon Hursthouse and Lilian Ethel (nee Preshaw), and his siblings Helen Mary and Harold Richmond (Dick). Another photograph includes his son David as a child. There is an additional photograph mounted on a loose sheet, showing a row of seven Wackett Trainer aircraft of the A3 (Third squadron) RAAF, with pilots in the foreground and a Douglas DC2 aircraft in the background, thought to be at Parafield airport. John Hursthouse is one of the airmen pictured. See CONTENTS for more information and details.
