Glenelg jetty. In 1859 the original 381 metre jetty was built with a lighthouse positioned at the end. This caught fire and was cast into the sea to save the jetty. A replacement lighthouse was built in 1874. Public baths, an aquarium, police shed and a three storey kiosk and tearooms were later constructed.

Landscape showing Lake Hamilton Station, via Mount Hope. The homestead is partially concealed by a bushes and a drystone wall, the lake and distant low hills form a backdrop. The run was taken up in the 1840's as an occupational lease and known as the 'Sharinga Run' of which JF Haigh and RW Mortlock were the leaseholders. The lake was named after George Hamilton, the commissioner of police in South Australia in 1839 when Edward John Eyre made his exploration of the area.

[General description] This is a simple building of wooden planks with a corregated iron roof. It has a central door and a mullion window each side of it. [On back of photograph] 'This weatherboard structure originally stood in Smith Street, Naracoorte, where it was erected in 1866. It was used as the local Institute until 1873. It was then taken to pieces and re-erected in another part of the town where it remained until its demolition in January 1926. After its removal from Smith Street a new stone Institute building was erected on the site thus vacated. [see B 1388] Photographed in December 1925. [General description] This large three storey house was the second at Glenthorne Farm and built in 1880 for T.S. Porter, the new owner of the property following the death of founder Major O'Halloran in 1870. It was designed by architect Thomas English. The low building on the right is part of the earlier 'Lizard Lodge', Major O'Halloran's original home dating from 1839. The buildings were destroyed by fire in 1932 [from information supplied]. Telegraph Station, Pine Creek. By 1873 a telegraph repeater station and police camp had been established at Pine Creek. Prior to the this, during the construction of the Overland Telegraph line from Adelaide to Darwin, gold was discovered triggering another gold rush. The town rapidly grew and by the 1890s up to fifteen mines were operating in the area. The photograph shows the wooden building with its iron roof set in a garden of banana palms and other tropical plants

It was built in 1859 and still extant in 2006. This Italian style brick and bluestone building was built in the 1870s and had a cupola over the central portion.
