Summary

[General description] This is a simple building of wooden planks with a corregated iron roof. It has a central door and a mullion window each side of it. [On back of photograph] 'This weatherboard structure originally stood in Smith Street, Naracoorte, where it was erected in 1866. It was used as the local Institute until 1873. It was then taken to pieces and re-erected in another part of the town where it remained until its demolition in January 1926. After its removal from Smith Street a new stone Institute building was erected on the site thus vacated. [see B 1388] Photographed in December 1925.
