Notes on the back of the photograph say "Black fellows graves about 200 yards south of Landseer's Store; Railway Engine House; Landseer's Store (south part only erected); John Symons Store (partly hidden); Terminus Hotel; Commercial Hotel; Shops; To Post Office and Customs Officers House; Railway water tank in Railyard; Pumping House at lower edge of embankment (in couse of erection); Railway Station.
