Pirie Street, Adelaide, south side. A group of children, dressed in their best, are standing in front of one of a row of brick, iron-roofed cottages. The right side of the cottage on the extreme right is 19 yards east of Ackland Street. On the extreme left is Kippist's General Store (see B 2510). This view is part of a group which form a continuation: B2509, B2511, B2510 and B 2512 (in that order). All these buildings are shown on the Cadastral Survey plan.

Pirie Street, Adelaide, south side. A group of boys are sitting on the kerb in front of cottages. Geese can be seen near the tumbledown building on the right. The three cottages on the left adjoin the National Hotel and were unchanged as at March 1925. Their frontage altogether measures 18 yards. The right side of these cottages is 116 yards east of Ackland street. This view is part of a group which form a continuation: B2509, B2511, B2510 and B 2512 (in that order). All these buildings are shown on the Cadastral Survey plan.

Pirie Street, Adelaide, south side. Geese are pecking in the gutter and two girls pose in front of cottages. The very old cottage with the shingle roof is in a state of disrepair. The newer cottages in the centre were still standing as at March, 1925. The left side of Kippist's General Store is 67 yards east of Ackland Street. This view is part of a group which form a continuation: B2509, B2511, B2510 and B 2512 (in that order). All these buildings are shown on the Cadastral Survey plan.

[General description] This three storey building dating from the 1880s was originally known as Onslow Buildings. The part of the building on the left with the rendered facade is the premises of the National Bank of Australasia. The ground floor of the near end of the building consists of small shops with the Quick Lunch Cafe on the Coromandel Place corner. There appears to be 'for sale' notices on the facade. Wesleyan Church, Pirie Street, Adelaide, south side. A man is standing in front of the gate. The foundation stone was laid on the 15th July, 1850 and the building was finished in the early 1850s. It was demolished in 1964 due to structural problems and declining congregations. The Town Hall tower can be seen in the background on the right. See B 2874 and B 974 for earlier views.

Pirie Street, Adelaide, south side, west of Gawler Place, showing the Woman's Christian Temperance Union building. The South Australian branch of the W.C.T.U. was founded in 1889, so this building has been recently completed. Its appearance was unchanged until 1925 when it was demolished. See B 4716 for a view of the new building. The near side of the building is 32 yards west of Gawler Place and its frontage is 22 yards.

[On front of photograph] 'Ellen Street, Port Pirie, looking north / 1876' [General description] A number of men and boys are posing for the photographer on the road in front of the Port Pirie Hotel and Wood and Oliver's general store, with its clutter of merchandise. In the centre are two mounted men, probably officials, sitting very upright. A six horse team with a laden wagon stands on the left, and on the right railway men pose with their stationary locomotive. On the extreme right, next to the railway line, a pile of sacks are stacked in front of what appear to be warehouses in the background. Samuel Wills is the first licensee of the Port Pirie Hotel, established in 1873.
